Scientists Getting Smarter

Posted Monday, July 25, 2005 by Brian Beers

No this is not a joke, last Thursday World Net Daily posted a press-release from the Discovery Institute, a proponent of the Intelligent Design theory, based in Seattle.

-Who knew we had sane people in Seattle?

More than 400 scientists have now signed onto the DI’s “Statement of Dissent from Darwin.” which now includes “two prominent Russian biologists from Moscow State University.” Scientists who have now officially submitted their resignation from the category of “respected” scientist.

Wait…First Seattle and now Moscow.

Professor Voeikov, one of the Russian scientists, summarized the problem with evolution.

The ideology and philosophy of neo-Darwinism, which is sold by its adepts as a scientific theoretical foundation of biology, seriously hampers the development of science and hides from students the field’s real problems.

I wonder how that sounded in Russian.

Those of you reading Dr. Vreeland’s series on The Privileged Planet may appreciate the conflict raging in academic circles over the interpretations of evidence that scientists are uncovering. Our world is fascinatingly complex, and scientists once promised to explore our world. Unfortunately, the threat of contrary evidence deters Darwinists from true scientific endeavors. Like skilled defense attorneys, they pour effort into suppressing evidence and discrediting witnesses for the opposition. But as more websites like the Discovery Institute, this one, Alcaide's Cafe, and  others continue to draw attention to the reasoned arguments of Intelligent Design, the dumb-luck theory of evolution is reduced to being the dumb, luck theory.

Thanks to Dr. Vreeland for pointing out this press-release.
